Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Schedule includes rotating day/night coverage with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements; specific days vary based on rotation (flex standby/call as needed).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care including bathing, dressing, and assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform safe patient transfers and frequent repositioning/turning to prevent pressure injuries
• Pass meal trays and assist patients with feeding when needed
• Support patient ambulation and mobility to promote independence and recovery
• Communicate patient status and concerns promptly to the charge nurse and care team
• Document care accurately in MatrixCare and follow facility charting procedures
• Float to Acute/Swing bed unit as needed to support fluctuating patient needs
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and follow established infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of CNA or relevant patient care experience
• Must meet the 50-mile radius requirement and cannot have worked perm or PRN at CSH in the last 12 months
• Comfortable working in acute care / ED settings with ratios up to 1:15
• Willingness to float to Acute/Swing bed unit and work rotating 12-hour shifts
• No BSN required

Education

• CNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong hands-on basic patient care skills (bathing, dressing, turning, ambulation)
• Familiarity with MatrixCare charting or similar EHR systems
• Ability to work in Emergency Room / Acute Care environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills, especially with charge nurse and interdisciplinary staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety
