Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care on a med-telemetry unit, supporting patients with COPD, cardiac, post-surgical, dialysis and neuro needs
• Perform and document vital signs and telemetry monitoring accurately using EPIC
• Safely remove PIVs and Foley catheters per unit protocols
• Follow infection control practices and COVID vaccine requirements to protect patients and staff
• Float between facilities in Region Two when needed, adapting quickly to different unit workflows
• Participate in unit and hospital orientation and team huddles to ensure continuity of care
• Support charge nurses and house supervisors by communicating patient status and escalating concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum ~2 years of relevant experience preferred in med-telemetry or acute care
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and taking/recording vital signs
• Able and willing to float between St. Joseph Medical Center, St. Clare (Lakewood) and St. Elizabeth (Enumclaw)
• COVID vaccination required per facility policy
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work every-other-weekend and holiday schedules as required

Education

• CNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• BLS certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation basics
• Proficient with EPIC charting and documentation
• Infection control best practices and PPE use
• Experience with cardiac, med-tele, dialysis and post-surgical patient care
• Basic procedures: PIV removal and Foley removal (no blood sugars required)
• Strong communication skills and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
