Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support to promote resident independence
Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
Support mealtime needs and dietary assistance while honoring resident preferences
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families
Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans
Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid in Connecticut or eligible to obtain
Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
Willingness to work 8-hour shifts and be flexible with scheduling

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care
Basic infection control and safe hygiene practices
Familiarity with patient lifting and transfer techniques
Accurate documentation and charting skills
Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
