Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
- Support meal assistance and accurate documentation of intake and output
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical aspects of the role
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing care techniques and resident hygiene assistance
- Charting and documentation best practices
- Infection control and safety protocols
- Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
