Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all EHR and ancillary clinical system users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, web conferencing, and live video methods
• Configure, optimize, and update clinical content (labs, radiology, meds, immunizations, diagnosis and procedure codes) in partnership with medical staff
• Triage user problems and coordinate resolution with Help Desk, IT staff, coders, medical directors, and clinical subject matter experts
• Continuously evaluate clinical decision support systems and recommend improvements to align with best practices
• Assess and improve clinical workflows across outpatient and inpatient SEARHC clinics
• Collaborate with IT, vendor partners, and cross-functional teams to maintain reliable clinical applications
• Support implementations and major projects, including after-hours work when necessary to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date; agency staff must have active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network experience)
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis
• Teaching or training experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) considered in lieu of years of experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical applications
• Clinical workflows and clinical content management
• Familiarity with HL7 messaging and ancillary systems (scheduling, radiology, laboratory, document scanning)
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and independent/teamwork abilities
• Ability to research and apply medical standards of care and best practices
