Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping with daily living activities
Assist nursing team with vital signs, mobility support and basic clinical observations
Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
Communicate changes in resident condition clearly and promptly to nursing staff
Support mealtime assistance, feeding, and hygiene needs while preserving dignity
Document care activities accurately and timely in accordance with facility policy
Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

Current state CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Able to pass background check and required facility screenings
Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude toward older adults
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing helpful but new grads welcome

Education

State-approved CNA training program completion
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamental patient care skills and safe transfer techniques
Basic knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
Good communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced care setting
Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain calm under pressure
