Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care: bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting assistance
- Assist nursing staff with vital signs, patient transfers and safe mobility
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support patients’ emotional needs with patience, respect and professional bedside manner
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Help keep patient rooms and equipment clean, organized and stocked for safety
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (must meet Pennsylvania state requirements)
- Demonstrated patient care experience preferred; new grads welcome if certified
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care skills and familiarity with ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Good documentation habits and basic familiarity with electronic charting
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for patient-centered care
