Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Gettysburg, PA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (schedule varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients
Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team
Maintain safety and infection control standards at all times
Document care accurately and communicate observations to nurses
Support patient mobility and transfers using safe techniques
Collaborate with the care team and engage with families in a respectful way

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working night shifts and adaptable to per-diem scheduling
Strong communication and teamwork skills; resident-centered attitude
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Previous CNA experience preferred but new grads welcome to apply

Education

Completion of a state-approved CNA training program; High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with ADLs, feeding
Infection control and safe patient handling
Accurate documentation and charting
Observation skills and timely reporting of changes
Time management and ability to prioritize in a busy environment
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
