Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Provide expert, evidence-based nursing interventions in a fast-paced ED setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate efficient care
• Document patient assessments and interventions clearly and timely in the chart
• Educate patients and families on immediate care plans and follow-up needs
• Respond to critical situations calmly and lead resuscitation or trauma efforts as needed

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii licensure or compact privilege preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing or equivalent acute care setting
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shift rotations in a dynamic, team-based environment
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of relevant emergency nursing orientation or specialty training is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in emergency triage, critical care stabilization, and rapid assessment
• Comfortable with monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and coordinate care across disciplines
• A collaborative mindset and dedication to quality improvement in the ED
