Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients with attention to dignity and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Assess and monitor patient condition, including vital signs and symptom changes
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to create and follow effective care plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current and active LPN or RN license (must be valid in New Mexico)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
• Current clinical experience in a hospital or rehab setting is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and patient-centered communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and lift/move patients as required by facility policy

Education

• LPN: Completed practical nursing program (diploma or certificate)
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in patient assessment and bedside care
• Medication administration and accurate charting practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards
• Wound care basics and post-op/recovery monitoring
• Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
• Professional communication with patients, families, and care teams
