Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic patient care and support dignity at every step
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, intake/output, and observations
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with nurses, patients, and families to coordinate care
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-approved) or eligibility to obtain one
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Great communication skills, a caring attitude, and teamwork mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and ADLs
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
- Basic charting and documentation best practices
- Infection control and patient safety principles
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a care team
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
