Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) in radiology with confidence
• Provide one-on-one speech-language therapy and dysphagia management tailored to each patient
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, PT/OT, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective care plans
• Document thoroughly and timely in the Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
• Participate in unit-based meetings, discharge planning, and family education to improve patient outcomes
• Support quality initiatives, adherence to unit policies, and a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years full-time experience in acute care hospital or LTAC settings, with strong MBSS experience (explicit requirement for SLP role)
• Experience in Level 1 trauma, neuroscience, ICU, burn, oncology, or ortho & spine settings is a strong plus
• Current state SLP license or ability to obtain licensure in Texas
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable performing MBSS in radiology and managing complex dysphagia caseloads

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent graduate credential (typical requirement for SLP roles)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in Modified Barium Swallow Studies and dysphagia management
• Acute care and inpatient rehabilitation clinical skills
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and communication
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity units including ICUs and trauma floors
• Strong interdisciplinary communication, clinical decision-making, and patient education skills

This is a travel contract role in Plano, TX, a lively Dallas suburb with plenty to explore. Enjoy shopping and dining at Legacy West and The Shops at Legacy, scenic walks and trails at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, and arts and entertainment in Historic Downtown Plano. You are also a short drive from Dallas attractions like the Dallas Arboretum, Klyde Warren Park, museums and vibrant nightlife in Deep Ellum, and weekend trips to Fort Worth for the Stockyards experience.
