Shift Type: 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; primarily weekdays with some weekends and observed holiday coverage (minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) — Day shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adults and geriatrics on Med/Surgical and Telemetry units
- Perform IV therapy and IV starts confidently to support timely treatments
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias and emergency events
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed while maintaining standards of care
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure clear communication and safe transitions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, phlebotomy, social work) to support patient outcomes
- Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams and assist with emergency interventions when required
- Maintain excellent organization and communication to manage patient ratios of 1:4–5
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (state of practice required)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surgical nursing experience (travel experience required)
- Current BCLS (BCLS/BLS) certification required; ACLS, CPI and NIHSS preferred
- Proficient with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Strong IV therapy skills including starting and managing peripheral IVs and PICCs
- Comfortable managing cardiac drips (no titration) and blood product administration
- Ability to safely manage patient ratios of 1:4–5 and adapt when floating to other units
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surgical nursing best practices and adult/geriatrics care
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- EPIC electronic health record proficiency
- IV therapy, peripheral line and PICC management, central line care
- Rapid response and code team participation
- Respiratory supports: HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP familiarity, tracheostomy care basics
- Wound care and use of wound vac
- Interpretation of ABGs and understanding of vasoactive/cardiac drips (non-titration)
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and clear patient/family communication
