Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to PCU patients with varied acuity
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment
• Administer medications and therapies safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or appropriate compact privileges)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU, med-surg, or acute care experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification; advanced certifications encouraged where applicable
• Strong assessment skills, ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize effectively
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and acute care interventions

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of progressive care/telemetry patient care and monitoring
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and post-procedural care
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary colleagues
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
