Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to PCU patients with varied acuity
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient status using sound clinical judgment
- Administer medications and therapies safely and document care accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or appropriate compact privileges)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU, med-surg, or acute care experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification; advanced certifications encouraged where applicable
- Strong assessment skills, ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize effectively
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and acute care interventions
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of progressive care/telemetry patient care and monitoring
- Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and post-procedural care
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
- Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary colleagues
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
