Shift Type: Day 3x12-hour shifts, 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (three day shifts per week); schedule includes every other or every third weekend coverage; float and on-call required

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality PCU/Stepdown care for adult transplant and high-acuity medical patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to identify and act on changes quickly
- Manage IV therapy including central lines and PICCs with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Administer and titrate IV insulin, cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
- Support post-procedure recovery for kidney biopsies and paracenteses
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Social Work) to deliver coordinated care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC and manage medications with the Pyxis system
- Float to other OSU units as needed while maintaining excellent patient care standards
Qualifications
- Active Ohio RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience with a strong Stepdown/PCU background
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
- Comfortable with EPIC charting and Pyxis medication system
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, vasoactive/cardiac drips, and central line/PICC care
- Experience with transplant (renal, liver, pancreas) or high-acuity medical patients preferred
- Willingness to float within the OSU organization and take scheduled call; travel nursing experience not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring with strong dysrhythmia interpretation
- Advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC) and non-invasive airway management
- IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
- Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration
- Central line, PICC and peripheral IV management; blood product administration
- Post-procedure recovery skills (kidney biopsy recovery, paracentesis)
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation, Pyxis medication workflows, bladder scanner and dopplers
- Experience in transplant care (kidney, liver, pancreas) and renal failure management
