Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU patients, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
• Perform high-acuity procedures including intubation, extubation, central and arterial line care, chest tube and EVD support
• Manage complex therapies such as CRRT/HD, ventilator management, TPA administration, and tracheostomy care
• Monitor patients continuously using bedside monitors and document care accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Participate in unit operations including modified self-scheduling and adherence to unit-specific policies
• Support a compassionate patient experience through clear communication and kind bedside manner

Qualifications

• Valid Nursing License (required)
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care / ICU experience (Trauma ICU and Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with acute care ICU skills and high-acuity procedures (CRRT/HD, ventilator care, central/A-line management)
• Comfort floating to other ICUs and working a 6-week schedule with weekend coverage
• Team-player attitude, flexibility, and a positive approach to fast-paced environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Strong ventilator management and airway skills (intubation/extubation, trach care)
• Experience with CRRT/HD, EVD management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with Baxter/Alaris IV pumps, GE Carescape monitors, and common ICU devices
• Ability to perform wound irrigation/debridement and assist with minor bedside procedures
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
