Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic CT exams across all patient populations, including trauma and stroke protocols
• Quickly and safely initiate contrast studies and start peripheral IVs when required
• Operate and troubleshoot GE, Toshiba and Canon CT scanners and maintain images in PACS
• Collaborate with ER, ICU and surgical teams to prioritize emergent trauma and stroke patients
• Follow hospital and infection-control policies, including mandatory flu vaccination requirements
• Document exams accurately and maintain patient safety, radiation safety and image quality standards
• Participate in teaching and training activities in this academic, tertiary care environment

Qualifications

• Active California radiologic technologist license required at time of submission
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required
• BLS certification required; Fluoro Permit preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience required (3 years preferred); Level I trauma and stroke experience is a hard requirement
• Teaching hospital experience required; community hospital experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Comfortable with floating as needed and performing a high-volume caseload (~18–23 patients/shift)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• ARRT (R) certification and ARRT (CT) required

Knowledge & Skills

• CT imaging and trauma/stroke imaging protocols
• Contrast media preparation and administration
• Starting peripheral IVs
• PACS image management
• Experience with GE, Toshiba and Canon CT scanners
• Advanced procedures: CT arthrography, vascular CTA, brain perfusion, myelography, biopsies, aspirations and drainages
• Care across patient populations: neonatal through geriatric, including PICU/NICU and adult ICU exposures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Level I trauma, ED and tertiary care environment
