Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, safe nursing care to patients at the Rio Rancho Center.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Document care thoroughly and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team.
- Support patient comfort and education while promoting dignity and independence.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care to ensure smooth handoffs.
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in New Mexico (required).
- Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or required depending on facility).
- Comfortable working 12+ hour night shifts on a per-diem basis.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with care teams.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a patient-first mindset; previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus.
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN/LVN diploma or certificate).
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices.
- Basic assessment skills: vital signs, wound checks, and skin integrity evaluations.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting.
- Patient safety, infection control, and standard nursing procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy overnight environment and escalate concerns when needed.
