Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate direct patient care during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility policy
- Monitor, assess, and document patient condition and response to interventions
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team and families
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support admissions, discharges, and safe patient handoffs during shift changes
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and a healing environment
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential (required)
- Comfortable and experienced working overnight/extended shifts
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team
- Dependable, professional, and committed to high-quality patient care
Education
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing (LPN) program
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational nursing skills: vital signs, medication administration, wound care
- Patient assessment and monitoring during overnight periods
- Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting
- Infection control and safety best practices
- Teamwork, time management, and clear communication under pressure
