Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
• Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments to ensure sterile technique
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures and communicate changes promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in surgical counts and adhere to facility infection control protocols
• Mentor and support colleagues while contributing to a positive, team-focused environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be eligible to work in the assignment state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room (OR) nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Clean background and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and OR workflow
• Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Clear communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
