Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
• Support feeding, toileting, grooming, and bathing while preserving dignity
• Observe and document resident conditions, changes, and needs accurately
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to follow individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection-control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required or equivalent state certification
• Prior experience caring for older adults preferred but new grads from GNA programs are welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and reliable attendance

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills such as taking vitals, assisting with ADLs, and reporting changes
• Comfortable with safe resident transfer techniques and use of mobility aids
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Awareness of infection prevention, resident rights, and privacy regulations
