Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift; specific days of week to be confirmed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support residents with mobility and safe transfers while promoting independence
- Monitor and record basic observations such as temperature, pulse, respiration and report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with nurses, families, and other care team members
- Promote resident dignity, privacy, and emotional well-being through respectful interactions
Qualifications
- GNA certification or completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (required)
- Current state GNA/CNA registration as applicable and ability to work in Maryland
- Comfort working with older adults and experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Basic ability to safely perform transfers and assist with mobility
- Willingness to complete facility-required health screenings and background checks
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a recognized Geriatric Nursing Assistant program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and elder dignity
- Skilled at assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
- Solid interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
- Ability to follow care plans and document tasks clearly
