Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly to ensure excellent care
• Provide safe, compassionate mobility assistance and help with transfers
• Support mealtime assistance and observe dietary needs and intake
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with the team and families
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — your classroom training counts
• Current CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working with geriatric populations and a patient, empathetic approach
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliability and a positive attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) program / certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Basic infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Observation and reporting of changes in resident condition
• Effective verbal communication with residents, families, and staff
• Time management to support scheduled care tasks and documentation
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
