Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Varied days (Per Diem), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Evening shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
Support safe mobility and transfers to promote independence
Observe, document, and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team
Take and accurately record vital signs and routine measurements
Provide compassionate mealtime assistance and feeding support when needed
Maintain clear, timely documentation and effective communication with colleagues
Contribute to a warm, person-centered environment that prioritizes comfort and safety

Qualifications

Current GNA certification in Maryland required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtained upon hire
Up-to-date immunizations and TB test/clearance per facility policy
Background check and drug screening as required by facility
Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred but not required
Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

High school diploma or GED; current GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing care and activities of daily living
Ability to safely assist with transfers, mobility, and fall prevention
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
Accurate documentation and charting skills
Effective interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
