Shift Type: Variable shifts: 8-hour (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) or 12-hour (e.g., 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) schedules; manager will determine exact shift upon arrival; scheduled 80 hours per 2-week period; rotating shifts including weekends; one on-call shift per roster; at least one weekend off per roster

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care and triage for a diverse patient population
• Rapidly assess and stabilize patients during stroke, STEMI and trauma activations
• Perform and supervise proficient IV therapy and emergency procedures with confidence
• Document accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to meet core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• Use AIDET and Press Ganey best practices to deliver excellent patient experience and communication
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as LifePak defibrillators, Braun IV pumps and Philips monitors
• Float to other units as needed within your clinical competency to support patient care coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Hawaii required by the start of the assignment (travelers must apply upon acceptance if not currently licensed)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (acute care/emergency experience preferred)
• Mandatory certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, BLS, NIHSS
• Familiarity with stroke, STEMI and trauma activation protocols
• Comfortable working independently, multitasking, and functioning in fast-paced emergency settings
• Requested (not mandatory): NCI and Procedural Sedation experience/certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient IV skills and emergency procedure competency
• Experience with Meditech EMR documentation workflows
• Knowledge of core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• AIDET communication skills and Press Ganey patient service expectations
• Familiarity with LifePak defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips monitoring systems and Motorola radios
• Strong multitasking ability and independent problem-solving
