Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with GI procedures including colonoscopy and EGD, delivering safe, patient-centered care
• Assist with bronchoscopies and PEG tube placements, providing skilled intra-procedural support
• Manage scope reprocessing and sterilization workflows to maintain patient safety and equipment integrity
• Document procedures and patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse
• Serve as both scope room specialist and procedural tech as needed to keep the unit running smoothly
• Collaborate closely with physicians, CRNAs and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Support a positive patient experience through clear communication, comfort measures, and professionalism
• Adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines, contributing to a culture of safety and quality

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure per state/facility requirements (please ensure you meet Virginia licensing rules)
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience with endoscopy or GI procedural care
• Hands-on experience with bronchoscopy and PEG tube placements and scope reprocessing
• Proven ability to document in an electronic health record — familiarity with Meditech Expanse is a plus
• Comfortable working in both outpatient and inpatient procedural settings
• Able to work Monday–Friday day schedule and occasionally float to support OR turnover

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, or BSN)

• Endoscopy and GI procedural workflows (colonoscopy, EGD)
• Bronchoscopy support and PEG tube placement assistance
• Scope reprocessing, sterilization, and equipment handling (Olympus, Steris, Boston Scientific)
• Meditech Expanse documentation and electronic charting
• Strong patient communication and peri-procedural care
• Instrument and room setup for procedural efficiency
• Team collaboration in fast-paced procedural settings
