Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical status on the Progressive Care Unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following protocols
• Interpret telemetry and other monitoring data, escalating concerns promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient care clearly and comprehensively in the electronic health record
• Provide compassionate patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Respond effectively to patient deterioration and participate in emergency interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or ability to obtain licensure prior to assignment
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (PCU/telemetry experience preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and progressive care patient population

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Skilled clinical assessment and patient prioritization
• Documentation and electronic health record (EHR) competency
• Team collaboration, patient education, and bedside advocacy
