Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Continuously monitor patient status and telemetry, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy with safety and clinical accuracy
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — this position is for an RN (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care or PCU nursing experience (as specified in the posting)
• Required: ability to meet licensure requirements to practice in North Carolina (state or compact as applicable)
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS), with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) considered a plus
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, IV medication administration, and acute-care workflows
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) clinical practices and patient acuity assessment
• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac rhythm changes
• Safe medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Thorough documentation in electronic health records
• Patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
