Shift Type: Rotating nights including weekends, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night shift). Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; flexible to work holidays.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality progressive cardiac care to stepdown patients, including post-CV and vascular surgery cases
- Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and infusion drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, milrinone, etc.) with precision
- Manage epidurals, chest tubes and tube feedings and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to maintain continuity and safety
- Teach and support patients and families through recovery milestones with compassion and clarity
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (must be eligible to practice in NC)
- ACLS and BLS required (current certifications)
- Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience, with stepdown/telemetry experience required
- Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery experience within the last year is strongly preferred
- Comfortable managing cardiac gtt infusions, epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings and IV glucose management
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Able to work a 1:5 patient ratio and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Stepdown and telemetry patient management
- Cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip (gtt) management
- Epidural and chest tube care
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
- Strong assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
- Teamwork, flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit
