Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage high-acuity surgical and trauma patients with precision and compassion
• Provide evidence-based nursing care for spinal/neuro, trauma, and surgical populations
• Stabilize and respond rapidly to acute events including gunshot and spinal cord injuries
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and implement patient-centered plans
• Document patient condition and interventions accurately in EPIC
• Educate patients and families about care plans, post-op needs, and discharge goals
• Maintain competency with advanced monitoring, wound care, and specialized equipment
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that improve outcomes for critically injured patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-appropriate) with Nursys license verification
• Minimum 2 years of experience in trauma, surgical, spinal or high-acuity specialty
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Hands-on EPIC experience required — charting and documentation skills are a must
• Complete candidate profile with work history/resume (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, certification card, references, and badge-appropriate photo

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma nursing and emergency stabilization
• Surgical nursing care and post-op management
• Spinal and neuro care including spinal cord injury management (quads, paraplegic)
• High-acuity patient assessment and prioritization
• EPIC electronic charting and documentation
• Comfort with gunshot/trauma cases and complex wound care
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities
