Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight of the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring high-quality patient care
- Coordinate and lead clinical education and competency processes for OT staff
- Directly supervise certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to professional standards and facility policies
- Maintain and oversee the Occupational Therapy policy and procedure manual, including scope of care and documentation standards
- Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% of the role), delivering hands-on, impactful clinical care
- Lead discharge planning and ensure clear, thorough documentation for continuity of care
- Support program development and perform administrative tasks as assigned to advance department goals
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) - required
- Current California license from the Board of Medical Quality Assurance - required
- Possess any additional qualifications recommended by the California Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department - required
- Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) - preferred
- Ability to function in accordance with the State Practice Act and lead both clinical and administrative efforts
Education
- Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

- Clinical oversight and leadership/management skills
