Roles & Responsibilities
- Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist, delivering safe and effective interventions
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board standards
- Assist with maintaining the therapy department and keep the treatment area clean and organized
- Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences to help shape care plans
- Support nursing staff by training Restorative Aides and coaching caregivers
- Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans clearly with supervisors and the care team
- Document treatment changes per policy and ensure accurate treatment documentation
- Instruct patients, families, and staff on home programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge
- Report equipment issues proactively so treatment areas stay in good working order
- Relate positively and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues to foster a healing environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of California (license must be maintained in good standing)
- Proficient with electronic charting systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare
- Able to meet continuing education requirements per state practice
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfortable instructing patients, families, and nursing staff in therapeutic and maintenance programs
Education
- Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant per state board requirements

- Patient care and rehabilitation best practices
- Treatment documentation and progress note completion
- Caregiver training and discharge preparation
- Equipment maintenance and safety reporting
- Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Familiarity with Casamba and PointClickCare for clinical documentation
