Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day shift); every other weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dysphagia evaluations and deliver evidence-based treatment plans that improve patient safety and quality of life
- Perform cognitive evaluations and design individualized therapy to support recovery and functional communication
- Document assessments, care plans and progress notes accurately in MEDITECH
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and families to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation care
- Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing strategies and home carryover activities
- Manage an organized caseload while prioritizing patient-centered outcomes
- Participate in unit meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of therapy services
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (standard for SLP practice)
- Active or eligible for Texas SLP license (state licensure required for practice)
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience working as an SLP (experience with dysphagia and cognitive evaluations a plus)
- Proficient Spanish required—ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients
- Familiarity with MEDITECH or similar EMR systems
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work well on a fast-paced team
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

- Expertise in dysphagia evaluation and treatment
- Skilled in cognitive-communication assessment and intervention
- Comfortable documenting and navigating MEDITECH
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish
- Excellent organizational and time-management habits
