Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; includes 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks (day shift, rotating weekends)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide comprehensive post-operative care including wound, drain, and ostomy management
- Manage tracheostomy care and chest tube monitoring with vigilance
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including PCA pumps and heparin drips
- Coordinate dialysis-related needs when patients require renal support
- Document care accurately and promptly in Meditech to ensure continuity and compliance
- Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1–2 hours to prioritize patient safety
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and core staff to support patient throughput and outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license (State of practice) required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Comfortable with Alaris/Alaris IV pump and PCA pump management
- Demonstrated competence in wound, tracheostomy, ostomy, chest tube, and drain care
- Ability to float to other units as needed and work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment on a busy 25-bed Med-Surg unit
- Familiarity with infection prevention (CVC/Foley monitoring) and fall prevention protocols
- Proficient medication administration and 100% medication scanning practices
- Skilled in using Welch Allyn VS carts, Hoyer lifts, Broda chairs, and Alaris IV pumps
- Excellent communication for bedside reporting and patient-centered care
- Ability to manage patient ratios commonly 1:4 to 1:5 while maintaining quality care
