Roles & Responsibilities
- Independently perform medical acts and deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care
- Assess patients, develop treatment plans, and provide patient-centered education
- Promote health, disease prevention, and overall wellness through proactive care
- Lead and consult within the care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and clerical staff
- Identify patient and family learning needs and provide tailored education
- Maintain a safe, efficient clinical environment and support day-to-day operations
- Engage in continuing education and set personal goals for professional growth
Qualifications
- APRN licensure (Nurse Practitioner) in Vermont or ability to obtain state APRN licensure
- Active RN license and national NP certification appropriate to scope of practice
- Experience in outpatient primary care or family medicine preferred
- Strong skills in patient assessment, education, and collaborative care
- Demonstrated leadership or consultation experience within clinical teams
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; position is not open to visa candidates
- Willingness to live within a 1-hour commute of Brattleboro (candidates commuting over 1 hour will not be considered)
- Not open to LOCUM or LOCUM-to-PERM arrangements; must be able to commit to the role full-time
Education
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent graduate degree and APRN certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of primary care assessment and management
- Expertise in health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education
- Comfort working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary clinical environment
- Familiarity with outpatient clinical operations and efficient workflow
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and quality improvement
