Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using evidence-based evaluation techniques to determine communication and swallowing needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans that are meaningful and measurable
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions across the continuum of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and the rehabilitation team to coordinate care
• Document patient progress clearly and timely, supporting continuity and outcomes
• Educate patients, families and caregivers to promote carryover and functional gains
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute clinical expertise to treatment planning

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent clinical graduate degree
• State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or ability to obtain licensure in North Carolina
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or eligibility to obtain certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Clinical experience with adult and/or acute care populations preferred; open to experienced clinicians who thrive in fast-paced settings
• Strong communication, documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with hospital-based documentation and compliance standards
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual patient goals
• Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicating clinical findings
• Good time management and caseload prioritization to maximize patient outcomes
