Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients with warmth, take vital signs, and document findings accurately in Epic/CS-Link
• Perform venipuncture and prepare lab specimens following provider direction and labeling protocols
• Administer immunizations, injections, and oral medications as directed by the provider
• Conduct medication reconciliation and record patient history to support safe, effective care
• Prepare and set up exam and procedure rooms to ensure smooth patient visits
• Assist with point-of-care testing (glucometer, strep, urine dipstick) and routine procedures
• Manage insurance verification, referral processing, and authorization forms to keep care moving
• Support follow-up tasks like pharmacy refill requests, telephone triage, and appointment coordination
• Clean, reprocess, and maintain equipment per department guidelines to uphold patient safety

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic or medical office
• Proven proficiency in venipuncture/phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Experience charting in Epic / CS-Link (required)
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Knowledge of medical insurance, benefit plans, and referral processing
• Ability to administer immunizations and injections according to protocol
• BLS certification preferred
• Local candidates within a 50-minute commute preferred

Education

• Medical Assistant Diploma (DAPIP-accredited) - required
• High School Diploma or GED - required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Epic/CS-Link charting and electronic health record skills
• Skilled in vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient rooming
• Phlebotomy and specimen handling expertise with attention to labeling and chain-of-custody
• Comfortable with point-of-care testing (glucometer, strep, urine dipstick) and 12-lead EKGs
• Familiarity with immunizations, intradermal and intramuscular injections
• Experience with authorization forms, insurance verification, and referral workflows
• Excellent communication for telephone triage, patient education, and provider collaboration
• Basic wound care, suture removal assistance, TB testing, and procedure room setup
