Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and pediatric inpatients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record promptly
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating when necessary
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
- Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or eligibility to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or available upon hire
- Prior inpatient nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply)
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proof of immunizations or willingness to comply with facility requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and inpatient workflows
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
- Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize multiple patient needs
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
