Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day) with weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy assistance under OT supervision to help clients regain independence
- Implement individualized treatment activities and therapeutic exercises that support daily living skills
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on techniques, adaptive equipment, and home strategies that improve outcomes
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to care planning and positive patient outcomes
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe, clean treatment environment
- Participate in discharge planning and transition-of-care activities to support lasting success
- Advocate for patient needs and help tailor interventions to meet functional goals
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in West Virginia
- Completion of an accredited OTA program or equivalent education
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working a roughly 30-hour schedule with weekend rotation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Previous experience in rehab, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred; new grads are welcome to apply
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or completion of an accredited OTA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADLs, mobility, and functional recovery
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and activity modifications
- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt interventions under OT supervision
- Comfortable with documentation best practices and electronic medical records
- Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to educate patients and collaborate with families and staff
