Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients with mental health needs using evidence-based approaches
• Provide individual and group therapy interventions tailored to the correctional setting
• Develop and document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention as needed to support a safe environment
• Participate in orientation and training during the initial three-week onboarding period
• Support continuity of care by communicating treatment recommendations to internal teams

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist, or licensed LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC credential (active and in good standing)
• Current license or ability to obtain/transfer licensure for practice in California
• Experience or comfort working in correctional or institutional mental health settings preferred
• Willingness and ability to complete facility-required onboarding and background checks
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and crisis management skills

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD/PsyD) for Psychologist roles, or
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy for LCSW/LMFT/LPCC roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evidence-based psychotherapy techniques and mental health assessment
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention strategies
• Ability to work collaboratively with custody staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Excellent clinical documentation and time management skills
• Cultural sensitivity and strong communication skills
