Shift Type: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Day (4x10 schedule, 30 min meal)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and lead meaningful therapeutic recreation activities tailored to individuals and groups
- Assess participant strengths and needs to create goal-driven treatment plans
- Facilitate skill-building sessions that support mental health recovery and social functioning
- Document progress clearly and maintain accurate clinical records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate recreation therapy into care plans
- Ensure a safe, respectful environment while working within correctional facility protocols
Qualifications
- Experience in recreational therapy with a focus or interest in mental health
- Comfort working Monday through Thursday in a 4x10 schedule, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred or working toward certification
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility clearances for placement at PVSP
Education
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Group facilitation and activity planning skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic recreation modalities and mental health interventions
- Strong clinical documentation and treatment planning abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt programs to meet diverse needs and security requirements
