Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images with patient comfort and safety in mind.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process clearly, and position them accurately to optimize imaging.
• Administer contrast agents per protocol and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate exposure records.
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to ensure timely imaging turnaround and accurate documentation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CT equipment, report issues, and coordinate with service teams as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Certification as a CT Technologist (ARRT-CT) preferred or ARRT(R) with CT training.
• Valid state radiologic technologist licensure (Texas) or eligibility to obtain one.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience working in CT imaging or radiology; travel experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to unit-specific schedules.

Education

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred.
• ARRT certification (or eligibility) required for CT-focused roles.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with CT scanners, cross-sectional anatomy, and CT imaging protocols.
• Experience with contrast administration and monitoring for reactions.
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record documentation.
• Solid understanding of radiation safety and dose reduction techniques.
• Good clinical judgment, attention to detail, and teamwork in fast-paced settings.
