Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality adult echocardiograms using the GE Vivid machine to support accurate cardiology care
• Capture, process and document diagnostic images and measurements in the EMR with attention to detail
• Collaborate directly with cardiologists and the Echo team to ensure timely, actionable results
• Provide compassionate patient care—explain procedures, ensure comfort and maintain privacy
• Adhere to departmental policies, infection control and safety standards while maintaining equipment
• Participate in weekend coverage rotation and support department staffing as scheduled
• Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience performing adult echocardiograms
• Current BLS certification required
• RCS or ARDMS cardiac sonography certification required or in good standing
• Proven ability to operate GE Vivid or similar ultrasound equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player attitude
• Availability to work scheduled weekends as part of rotation

Education

• Completion of an accredited cardiac sonography/ultrasound program or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) protocols and measurements
• Familiarity with GE Vivid ultrasound systems
• Comfortable using EMR systems for image upload and reporting
• Solid understanding of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics and basic EKG correlation
• Excellent patient care skills and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
