Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room for a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring instruments and equipment are ready
• Maintain strict sterile technique and a safe surgical field throughout cases
• Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies to support smooth procedures
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts and document per policy
• Document intraoperative care and case details in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team, anesthesia techs, RN staff and equipment techs to optimize patient care
• Support endoscopy and advanced procedure cases as needed, contributing to high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience (must have) working as a CST in the OR
• Experience with Meditech EMR — required
• Preferred experience: Neuro/ECRP, vascular cases and other advanced procedures
• Comfort with on-call and holiday coverage; flexible, team-player attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of OR procedures and sterile technique
• Proficiency using Meditech EMR for intraoperative documentation
• Familiarity with common OR equipment and instrumentation
• Ability to work effectively in a 1:1 patient ratio environment when required
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure surgical settings
• Adaptability to support multiple ORs and endoscopy suites
