Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a medical-surgical unit
• Assess patient condition, monitor vitals and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and ancillary staff to implement patient care plans
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring teammates and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
• Ability to pass required pre-employment checks and onboarding/orientation processes
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and adult patient care
• Proficient in medication administration and basic inpatient procedures
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and triage in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
• Team player attitude with strong critical thinking and assessment skills
