Shift Type: 4-hour shift, specific start/end times and days to be confirmed (Pre-op, Pediatrics)
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients, ensuring comfort and safety
- Assess and prepare patients for procedures, including vital signs and pre-op screening
- Educate families and caregivers about pre-op instructions and what to expect
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative teams to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the medical record
- Support smooth patient flow through the pre-op area and help maintain a child-friendly environment
- Participate in orientation and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact RN license as applicable)
- Clinical experience in pediatrics and/or pre-operative nursing preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Strong communication skills for teaching and supporting families
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical/pre-op setting
- Willingness to complete facility orientation and required onboarding
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication
- Pre-op protocols and patient preparation workflows
- Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in pediatric patients
- Patient and family education techniques tailored to caregivers
- Electronic medical record documentation and charting best practices
- Team-based collaboration with surgical and anesthesia teams
