Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with dignity
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with nurses and the care team to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Pennsylvania certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, if required by facility
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
- Up-to-date immunizations as required by employer
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-player mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Basic charting and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or paper charting
- Infection control practices and safe hygiene techniques
- Safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Clear communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during a shift
