Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide continuous, attentive care
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility health requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN). BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and common clinical conditions
• Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Effective clinical documentation and charting skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
• Basic familiarity with electronic health record systems (EHR) and workflows
