Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care: assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers, and help prevent falls with attentive care
• Maintain clean, comfortable resident environments and follow infection control practices
• Document resident care activities clearly and communicate effectively with nurses and the care team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering respectful, person-centered support

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New York state preferred (or eligible to obtain)
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable with hands-on resident care and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care and assistance with ADLs
• Knowledge of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Able to accurately measure and record vitals and intake/output
• Good documentation practices and electronic charting familiarity
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in condition
• Compassionate interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
