Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Days, 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts depending on unit need, may include weekend call

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons across a wide range of specialties including ortho, robotics, neuro, GYN, urology, vascular, and general surgery
Provide first assistant support during complex procedures such as total joints, robotic hysterectomies, brain tumor resections, and vascular reconstructions
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient operating room experiences for every patient
Float between Mercy Hospital Downtown and Mercy Southwest to support staffing needs
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner throughout each case

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Cerner experience required
Proven experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN surgical cases
No first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of ortho totals, robotics, neuro spine and cranial procedures
Familiarity with GYN oncology and urology cases
Comfortable with DaVinci robotic systems
Ability to adapt quickly between multiple surgical specialties
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
